Privacy Policy

Trove Finds is a small Sydney-based secondhand shop. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you buy from us, contact us, or use our shopfront, we may collect:

• Contact details — name, email address, phone number, delivery address (needed to ship your order and communicate about it)
• Payment information — processed entirely by the platform you buy through (Shopify, eBay, Gumtree, Facebook Pay, etc.). We never see or store your card details
• Communication history — messages, emails, or comments you send us about an item

Why we collect it

• To complete and deliver your purchase
• To answer questions about items
• To comply with Australian tax and record-keeping obligations
• To improve how we run the shop

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the platform you used to transact (Shopify, eBay, Gumtree, Facebook, etc.) and shipping services needed to deliver your order. We never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties.

How long we keep it

Transaction records are kept as required by Australian tax law (generally 5 years). Contact and communication records are kept until the transaction is complete and any warranty period has passed, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at trovefinds@proton.me and we'll respond within 14 days.

Cookies

Our shopfront (trove-finds.pages.dev) does not set its own cookies. The platforms we list on (Shopify, Facebook, eBay, Gumtree) set their own cookies according to their privacy policies.

Pinterest API access

Trove Finds uses the Pinterest API to publish and manage its own product Pins on its own Pinterest business account (@trovefinds), and to read those same Pins back to check that they are live and correct.

• What we access: only the Trove Finds account's own Pins and boards. We do not access Pins, boards, or profile data belonging to any other Pinterest user.
• What we store: the Pin IDs and the public URLs of our own Pins, and a copy of the listing text and photo we ourselves publish. We do not store Pinterest user data.
• What we do with it: keep our own listings accurate and detect ones that have gone dead. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising or profiling.
• Other Pinners: we do not collect, store, or process personal information of other Pinterest users. If someone contacts us about an item, we handle that message under the sections above.
• Retention and removal: Pin records are kept while the listing is live and for up to 12 months afterwards. Ask us at trovefinds@proton.me and we will delete the records we hold.

Our use of the Pinterest API follows the Pinterest Developer Guidelines and the Pinterest Developer and API Terms.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update it here and note the date below.
